According to a new claim, Leon has already been featured in Resident Evil Requiem’s first trailer in two small ways.
One of the biggest rumours surrounding Resident Evil Requiem concerns its second playable character, and franchise favourite, Leon Kennedy. A prominent leaker has repeatedly claimed that this character is indeed part of RE9; however, Capcom has yet to provide any details that hint at Leon’s inclusion. Now, the same leaker has claimed that Leon has already been featured in RE9’s first trailer.
Resident Evil Requiem’s First Trailer Reportedly Has Leon in Two Small Ways
A new post by DuskGolem on X (formerly Twitter) talks about Leon’s appearance in the first Resident Evil Requiem trailer. The leaker states that Leon was there in two small ways; however, “they’re minor and be more obvious when looking back.” When asked about players playing more as Leon than Grace, Dusk stated that “this is subjective”, however, they believe “with how the game is structured, that more of the game will be played as Leon by most players.”
DuskGolem was also asked whether there was a chance that Capcom might have removed Leon from the game without his knowledge. The leaker’s answer was no, as it would mean that the developers would be throwing away millions of dollars by removing one of the main characters. Dusk adds that removal at this stage is “pretty much impossible” as they can’t make this decision on a whim, “there’s a lot of discourse, approval, allocating budget for the change, etc.”
In other news, the director of Resident Evil Requiem has stated that Leon Kennedy is “a bad match for horror“. Additionally, RE9’s bosses will require players to use their wits.
